The Series PCX-MAT are full-range, operationally programmable power supplies with a low-offset front end and exceptional stability. They can be set or programmed to any level within their rated range, and fully loaded at any output setting.
Output voltage is controlled by a panel-mounted, 10-turn rheostat. External control is exercised by a resistance at 1000 ohms-per-volt (a built-in calibrating trimmer is used to calibrate this value) or by a control voltage delivering 0-1 mA. Control is fully operational; the power supply functions as an inverting power amplifier.
A built-in current sensing and feedback arrangement (controlled by an internal trimmer over the range 10-105%) provides protective current limiting. For precision control of current, the voltage control channel may be reconnected to sample the drop across an external current sensing resistor in the plus output lead. An external current feedback rheostat, with careful zeroing of the built-in zeroing potentiometer controls current from approximately 1mA to 100% maximum output current.
