Instrument Systems has developed the DTS 320 NVIS especially for testing displays und panels according to MIL-L-85762A and MIL-STD-3009, respectively. This system is based on the high performance, scanning spectroradiometer Spectro 320 and incorporates a cooled PMT3 photomultiplier and the TOP 200 telescopic optical probe.
The DTS 320 NVIS is ideally suited as a reference system and has been subsequently adopted as the spectroradiometer of choice by the military aviation industry and in recognized test laboratories. The exceptional sensitivity permits measurement of NVIS radiance down 0.01 fL. It is additionally the only spectroradiometer available on the market capable of reliably determining the NVIS black radiance of the modern LCD displays designed for glass cockpits.
The high scan speed and superior signal sensitivity of the DTS 320 NVIS allow accurate determination of NVIS radiance (NR-A, NR-B and NR-C) within 1 minute. In the standard configuration for the DTS 320 NVIS, cooling of the photomultiplier to -5º C is provided internally, thus enabling mobile applications. External cooling to -10º C is available as an option in order to further reduce signal noise.
