The HD2015 is a reliable and robust auger rain gauge, fully built with corrosion resistant materials to guarantee a long life. To ensure careful measurement in climatic conditions at low temperatures or in case
of snowy precipitation too, a reheat version is available which is activated automatically at about +4 ° C, which prevents the deposition of snow and the formation of ice.
The rain gauge consists of a metal base on which is positioned the tipping bucket.
The rain is collected in a cone, attached to the aluminum cylinder, which carries the water in the tipping bucket: once reached the established level, the bucket calibrated, under the action of its own weight, rolls spilling water. In rolling phase, the contact of the reed, normally closed, opens for a fraction of a second, sending a pulse to the counter.
The measurement of the quantity of rain is based on the count of the number of the bucket: reed contacts, normally closed, open at the moment of rotation between one section and the other of the bucket. The number of pulses can be raised and acquired with a data logger such as the model HD2013-DB or with a pulse counter.
A removable fi lter for cleaning and periodic maintenance is inserted in the inlet cone of the water to prevent the piercing at the other end from obstructed by leaves or other elements.
For better drainage, the collecting cone has been treated with a product anti adherent.
