SPIDAR® uses a tree architecture as depicted, with a computer at the top of the structure controlling one or more GPR systems via wired or wireless Ethernet. SPIVIEW® control software operating under Windows on the computer provides an integrated user-friendly control and real-time display of all systems status and GPR data
Noggin® and pulseEKKO® PRO GPR systems are network-enabled using SPIDAR® Network Interface Controllers (NICs). NICs are microprocessor-based modules that provide complete control of Noggin® or pulseEKKO® PRO GPRs and communicate with the world via wired or wireless Ethernet.
When a multiplicity of NICs must operate together simultaneously, a SPIDAR® HUB provides coordinated communications, power management and positioning synchronization for the NICs and their associated GPR unit. Each HUB supports up to four NICs; additional HUBs can be connected enabling an unlimited number of NICs and GPR systems. Practical power management for advanced portable configurations underpins the design of the HUBs, NICs and GPR systems.
Interconnection of peripherals such as odometers, power supplies, beeper/triggers, GPS and laser tracking units, or additional geophysical sensors, is designed into the SPIDAR® architecture.
