Surge wave locator set P-900 is designed to perform the following:
- finding the location of the underground cable lines and power cables with an inductive method;
- determining the depth of the cables' position;
- finding the location of the short-circuits in the cable veins;
- finding the location of the insulation faults in the high voltage power cables with an acoustic method.
When searching with an inductive method the receiver must be operated in conjunction with an additional surge wave generator, capable of producing audio frequencies of 1024±1 Hz or 2048±2 Hz, providing an output power of 200 W in a range of loads from 0.5 to 200 Ohms (for example, GZCH-2500).
When searching with an acoustic method the receiver must be operated in conjunction with an additional pulse generator with voltage of 10.5 - 32 kV and the energy of 150-1920 J (for example, GAUV-6).
